Aurora took a hard-fought five-set decision over Central (IA) on September 19 at King Arena in Wheaton, Illinois, winning 25-9, 23-25, 19-25, 25-20, 15-12 to improve to 11-2 on the season.

Aurora's efficiency edge proved to be the decisive factor: the Spartans finished with a .286 attack percentage on 68 kills against just 14 errors, while Central posted a .196 mark on 63 kills with 25 errors. Aurora also held a 8-4 advantage in blocks and out-aced the Dutch 7-5\. The efficiency gap swung dramatically by set — Central hit .311 and .400 in sets two and three to steal those frames, but Aurora answered with a .371 opening set and a .340 fourth set to force the fifth. In the decisive set, Aurora hit .211 to Central's .038, pulling away when it mattered most.

Izabella Kowalczyk led all players with 23 kills on a .269 percentage and added 14 digs for Aurora, while Peyton Darguzis contributed 11 kills and a match-high six blocks. Trinity Nelson orchestrated the offense with 54 assists and chipped in 16 digs. For Central, Alex McNab posted 13 kills, Kaitlyn Mumm added 12 kills with two blocks, and Sophia Folkerts contributed 11 kills. Libero Katie Brisk anchored Aurora's back row with 30 digs.

Aurora opened the match with a 10-0 run in set one to establish early control, a burst that proved too large a hole for Central to overcome in the opening frame.

The win moves Aurora to 11-2 overall and 1-0 in NACC play, while Central falls to 8-5 on the season.
