Edgewood defeated North Central (IL) 25-19, 20-25, 25-18, 25-11 on September 19, 2026, at the Lillis Athletic and Wellness Center in Dubuque, Iowa, to improve to 7-2 on the season.

The efficiency gap told the story: Edgewood hit .317 as a team compared to North Central's .085, a margin that proved insurmountable over four sets. The Eagles posted 52 kills against just 13 errors on 123 attempts, while the Cardinals' 27 errors on 130 swings consistently short-circuited their offensive rhythm. Edgewood also doubled North Central in blocks, 8 to 4, adding another layer of pressure at the net. The fourth set was particularly lopsided — Edgewood hit .667 on 21 attempts while North Central finished at -.130, effectively ending the match early.

Nida Zukauskaite led all players with 14 kills and added 9 digs for Edgewood, while Reagan Siebler (11 kills, 3 aces) and Natalie Murphy (11 kills, 4 blocks) rounded out a balanced Eagle attack. For North Central, Abby Buban carried the offensive load with a team-high 11 kills and 2 blocks, and setter Sarah Harvey distributed 26 assists while contributing 11 digs and 2 aces.

In Set 4, Edgewood reeled off a 6-1 run to push the lead to 8-2, then extended it to 12-2, effectively putting the match out of reach before the midpoint of the final set.

The loss drops North Central to 3-4 overall as the Cardinals open CCIW play.
