Loras College tops Alverno College, 3-0

Loras swept Alverno 3-0 (25-12, 25-9, 25-19) on September 25, 2026, at the Lillis Athletic and Wellness Center in Dubuque, Iowa, in front of an attendance of 150.

The Duhawks controlled the match from nearly every angle. Loras out-killed Alverno 36 to 19 and hit .250 as a team compared to Alverno's .063, but the most decisive gap was on the service line: Loras recorded 21 aces to Alverno's one, a disparity that repeatedly disrupted Alverno's offensive rhythm throughout all three sets. Blocks were even at four apiece, and the Duhawks also held a 44-37 edge in digs.

Cat Meyer led all players with 11 kills on a .500 hitting percentage, adding eight digs and three aces for an all-around effort. Isabel Hart ran the offense with 24 assists and seven aces, driving much of Loras's serving pressure. On the Alverno side, Olivia McCann was the Clippers' most productive attacker with eight kills, while Brooklynne Hereford anchored the back row with 13 digs.

Hart's serving was particularly damaging in Sets 1 and 3, where she strung together multiple consecutive aces to push Loras out to early, comfortable leads — including a stretch in Set 1 that put the Duhawks up 6-0 before Alverno had found their footing.

The win moves Loras to 7-8 on the season.
