University of Dubuque tops St. Olaf College, 3-2

Dubuque topped then-No. 21 St. Olaf 3-2 (22-25, 25-23, 25-22, 19-25, 15-11) on September 18, 2026, at Kohawk Arena in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, handing the Oles their second loss of the season.

The Spartans out-killed St. Olaf 68-58 on the night and held a notable edge in aces, 13-7, a margin that repeatedly disrupted Oles serve-receive in the middle sets. Both teams finished with eight blocks apiece, and Dubuque's defensive effort was reflected in its 88-76 dig advantage. St. Olaf hit .357 in Set 1 to claim it convincingly, but Dubuque steadied its attack to post a .345 clip in the decisive fifth set while holding the Oles to just .133.

Delainey Winkel carried Dubuque offensively with a match-high 29 kills on a .308 clip, adding 13 digs for a strong all-around night. Chloe Reiser chipped in 12 kills and Caitlin Jensen added 11. For St. Olaf, Mehsa Krause led the way with 16 kills and 10 digs, while Maren Miller contributed 14 kills and a team-high four blocks. Libero Michaela Dooley anchored the Oles back row with 25 digs.

Trailing 6-10 in Set 5, St. Olaf trimmed the deficit to 9-12 but could not fully close the gap as Dubuque scored the final three points to seal the match.

The loss drops then-No. 21 St. Olaf to 6-2 on the season, while Dubuque improves to 9-2.
