# University of Dubuque tops University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, 3-2

Then-No. 19 University of Dubuque survived a five-set match at Berg Gym in Stevens Point, Wis., on October 3, 2026, defeating Wisconsin-Stevens Point 25-18, 22-25, 25-18, 18-25, 15-13 before 161 fans to improve to 16-3.

The teams were nearly even across the board — Dubuque totaled 56 kills to UWSP's 62 and finished with a .165 attack percentage compared to the Pointers' .178 — but the Spartans made the decisive difference at the net, out-blocking UWSP 11-10 while holding firm in a fifth set that had been tied at 13 before Dubuque closed it out. Dubuque's third-set efficiency (.405) was the match's high-water mark for either team and helped the Spartans seize control after dropping the second. UWSP's Tessa Erlandson anchored the back row with 34 digs but the Pointers couldn't sustain their attack consistency from sets one and four.

Delainey Winkel led all players with 22 kills to go with 17 digs and an ace, anchoring Dubuque's offense from start to finish. Caitlin Jensen added 15 kills and ran an efficient .282 clip, while Halee Clare contributed 8 kills and a match-high 9 blocks. Alexis Kammerer distributed 51 assists to keep Dubuque's attack varied throughout. For UWSP, Ella Trieloff and Lauren Shaw each posted 14 kills, and Carly Thomka chipped in 11.

In the fourth set, UWSP rattled off seven consecutive points to turn a 3-2 deficit into a 9-3 lead, a run that forced Dubuque into a timeout-and-substitute scramble and handed Stevens Point the set comfortably.

The win moves Dubuque to 16-3 on the season and opens American Rivers Conference play at 1-0.
