University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh tops Wheaton College, 3-0

Top-ranked Wisconsin-Oshkosh swept Wheaton (IL) 25-17, 25-14, 25-10 on October 3 at Berg Gym in Stevens Point, Wis., improving to 15-1 overall and 2-0 in WIAC play.

The efficiency gap told the story: UWO hit .327 as a team compared to a -.010 mark for Wheaton, with the Titans holding a commanding 40-23 edge in kills. UWO's block total of 11 to Wheaton's 4 further disrupted the Thunder's offensive rhythm, and the Titans added six aces to Wheaton's two. Both teams finished with 51 digs, though UWO's attack efficiency made that defensive parity largely inconsequential.

Lauren Grier led all players with 10 kills and added six blocks, posting a .563 hitting percentage on the night. Grace Juergens contributed eight kills, 13 digs, and two aces for a standout all-around line, while Samantha Perlberg chipped in seven kills and ten digs. Setting the offense were Alex Hopp and Leah Carlson, who combined for 35 of UWO's 40 assists. For Wheaton, Katherine Adkison paced the Thunder with seven kills, and libero Avery Nance led all players with 16 digs.

In the third set, UWO reeled off a 7-2 run to stretch a 13-7 lead to 20-9, effectively closing out the match. The win moves Wisconsin-Oshkosh to 15-1 on the season.
