University of Wisconsin-Platteville tops Loras College, 3-2

Wisconsin-Platteville survived a five-set match at the Lillis Athletic and Wellness Center in Dubuque, Iowa on September 30, 2026, taking down Loras 21-25, 25-21, 25-23, 23-25, 15-4 to earn the road victory.

The Pioneers edged the Duhawks in kills (66-60) and held a decisive advantage in blocking (10-5), while also winning the serve battle 9-7 in aces. The kill efficiency gap was most pronounced in the decisive fifth set, where Wis.-Platteville posted a .500 attack percentage against Loras's -.080 — a swing that effectively ended the match in short order. Through the first four sets both teams traded efficient stretches, but UWP's block total proved a consistent difference-maker throughout.

Kennedy Wenger led all players with 16 kills, adding five blocks and two aces for 21.0 total points to pace Wis.-Platteville, while Grace Rohde and Lauren Abbott each contributed 11 kills. For Loras, Cat Meyer was the standout performer with 17 kills and 18 digs — one of the more complete individual lines of the night — and Kyra Kuehn and Cydney Tath each added 13 kills in a losing effort.

The fifth set told the story quickly: Wis.-Platteville reeled off an 11-1 run to open the frame, rendering the set effectively unreachable for Loras.

The win moves Wis.-Platteville to 10-4 on the season and 1-0 in WIAC play.
